High Tea

"Royal Treat". The Duchess of Bedford introduced afternoon tea around the 1840’s, when she would become hungry around four o'clock in the afternoon. To shorten the time between lunch and late dinner a selection of teas and light snacks and sandwiches were served. It pleased her so much that it became a habit of hers and eventually many fellow countrymen would follow her idea.

The story has inspired Chef de Cuisine Jeroen Zuidberg to compose a contemporary version of High Tea, where tradition, fresh products and an international selection of teas offer you a relaxing afternoon with a royal touch. For starter we recommend a bubbling Prosecco or a classy glass of Champagne. While serving the tea your host will be delighted to tell you about the origin of the teas and its combinations with the food served.

1st course luxury sandwiches

  • Tortilla with smoked salmon - herbal cream cheese - cucumber
  • Sandwich brown bread with veal pastrami - Parmesan cheese - nut lettuce 
  • Twister bread with crab salad - lettuce - spring onions
  • Brioche toast - goat cheese cream - caramelized with cane sugar

2th course

  • Canapés San Danielle ham
  • Mini quiche Lorrain

  • Yakatori chicken skewer - spring onion - peanut crumb

3th course

  • Petit four - lemon meringue
  • Chocolate brownie

  • Scones with clotted cream/ marmalade
  • Baba mango and passion - rum - vanilla cream
